Caleb Teicher & Company: More Forever with Pianist Conrad Tao

Conceived of by one of the brightest stars in tap, this piece, humorous and sentimental, whimsical and heartbreaking, brings the excitement of percussive dance and contemporary music into full-scale collaboration. Performed on a custom-built sandbox stage and set to Tao’s contemporary score for piano and electronics, dancers explore the unique sonic potential of sand-dancing using such American dance traditions as Tap, Vernacular Jazz, and Lindy Hop.

Academy of Vocal Arts: Verdi's La Traviata

Great voices accompanied by live orchestra share the drama and the passion of classic opera in a concert version of Verdi's La Traviata. The Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia trains young artists with tremendous potential as international opera soloists. Lee Upton is the author of fourteen books, most recently, Visitations: Stories, and Bottle the Bottles the Bottles the Bottles: Poems. Her work has appeared widely, including in The New Yorker, The New Republic, The Atlantic, World Literature Today, Bennington Review, and in three editions of Best American Poetry. A librettist and a literary critic as well as a poet and fiction writer, she is the Francis A. March Professor of English and Writer-in-Residence at Lafayette College.
