- Faculty Recitals
Conductor Hans von Bulow counted composers Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms as the "Three B's" of classical music in the late 19th century. The Frequency String Quartet, Lehigh's Faculty String Quartet, presents an afternoon of music written by three composers that provide an alternate version of the "Three B's"-Brahms, Bologne, and Bartók. Joseph Bologne, the Chevalier de Saint-Georges, was a French composer from the Classical Era whose charming quartets were performed in the court of Louis XVI, and Béla Bartók's quartets represent some of the most important works of the 20th century.
