YAMATO's Taiko drumming is a unique blend of rhythm, movement, and energy that must be experienced to be fully understood. On stage, they stand with more than 40 Taiko drums, all of which have different characters. For example, their largest drum, Odaiko, was produced from a massive tree over 400 years old. They do not simply make their Taiko drums explode with sound; they produce delicate music that provides the listener with a palette of meticulously crafted sound. YAMATO's performances are known as physical music -- sometimes intense, sad, comforting, yet in the next moment comical. They have performed over 4,000 shows in 54 countries. Click HERE for artist's website. LU Students attend for FREE, click for more info.
