Two Truths and a Lie is a student-led production held in Zoellner Art Center’s Black Box Theatre. During this two-hour event, viewers  will enjoy three wildly different plays. These plays will all vary immensely in settings, genre, and aim, but one point they all find common ground on is the theme of what is the truth and what is a lie, even in the most abstract sense! Together, viewers will explore this theme in an ancient temple, a courtroom, and even on a kitchen counter! There will even be a fourth play unique to each date, written by a Lehigh student! So please join us to partake in the fantastic student creations.

The Plays
Director: Ian Ward
Play: The Catilinarian Conspiracy
Description: In The Catilinarian Conspiracy, the audience will be immersed in Ancient Rome during a time of great turmoil caused by an attempted coup by Senator Catalina! The only one to stand against these evils is the great orator, Cicero. At least, that’s what Cicero wants the audience to believe.

Director: Juliana Kilgore
Play: I Dream Before I Take The Stand
Description: In I Dream Before I Take The Stand, the audience will be flung into a grueling court scene. As the defense brutally questions the victim of a sexual assault case in an emotionally draining scene, he distorts her innocence into guilt, leaving the audience questioning the justice system.

Director: Nessie Houch
Play: Prefers Bright Indirect Sunlight
Description: Have you ever wondered what it would be like if house plants could talk? Well, Prefers Bright Indirect Sunlight has the answer. This fun, whimsical, and colorful play follows along as four houseplants go through their everyday life! But be warned, like the lives of humans, there are always unexpected twists!
