A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
We can’t wait to see you this April! From the wildly entertaining The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain to the breathtaking choral artistry of The Tallis Scholars and the magical storytelling of Into the Woods, plus the high-energy Lehigh University Student Jazz Concert: Jazz Orchestra, Big Band & Jazz Combos, there’s something for everyone this month. With gratitude, Mark Fitzgerald Wilson

PRESENTING SERIES

Honorée Fanonne Jeffers is an essayist, novelist, poet, and a student of United States’ history. Jeffers' first novel, The Love Songs of W.E.B. Du Bois, was an Oprah’s Book Club pick and has been included on the “Great American Novels” list of The Atlantic. Love Songs has won the National Book Critics Circle Award in Fiction, the Dayton Literary Peace Prize in Fiction, the First Novelist’s Award from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, and the Spalding Prize for the Promotion of Peace and Justice in Literature.

Think you know the ukulele? Think again. Enter The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. From Britain's Houses of Parliament to sold-out nights at Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House, these "rock-star strummers" are subverting expectations with everything from film themes to classical hits. Come for the virtuoso playing, stay for the dry British humor. It’s a hilarious "soup of contrasts" you have to hear to believe.

Under the direction of founder Peter Phillips, hear one of the most prolific and decorated choral groups of the last century. Through their excellence and scholarship they have helped to establish Renaissance sacred music as a significant part of Western classical music today. The unified and pure sound that they weave from diverse voices is otherworldly. This concert is presented in memory of Frederick W. Graf, Organist and Choirmaster, 1954-1992 Cathedral Church of the Nativity.

A contemporary dance experience that pulls you straight into the mystical world of Gèlèdé tradition. It’s a vibrant celebration of African heritage that feels both ancient and futuristic. Watch as masks turn into "living sculptures" through the dancers' movements. Choreographed by the visionary Marcel Gbeffa, the show perfectly balances deep respect for Beninese roots with a fresh aesthetic.
